What does CERT do?
|
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a national organization for civilians to become trained in disaster response.
CERT is locally implemented to help teach people how to better prepare for hazards that may affect their regional community.

How Can I Get Involved?
We encourage American Red Cross members to get CERT Certified!
|
The Office of Emergency Management offers FREE CERT classes throughout the year to all UCLA students, staff and faculty. The 24-hour class will educate you on disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact your local area and trains you in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
Classes are taught every quarter over a span of three days and have a limited number of seats (so sign up soon!). In order to graduate from CERT, you must attend all three days of class. Once completed, CERT members have the option to volunteer and respond to a disaster or emergency affecting the UCLA community. |
